Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. A combination of technique and strategy, BJJ is commonly referred to as human chess, combining an amazing workout, with incredible self-defence skills.
Training consists of a warm-up (strength, conditioning and flexibility) followed by learning new techniques and finally, sparring i.e. “light fighting”
OUR BJJ OPTIONS
ALL LEVELS
In our All Levels classes you will learn basic takedowns, submissions, sweeps and self-defence, as well as improve your fitness and mobility. These classes are suitable for beginners and more experienced grapplers. We believe the best way to improve and develop your game is to train with a wide variety of partners.
WRESTLING
Our wrestling class is where students of all levels and from all disciplines can improve their stand-up game with former GB Wrestler and BJJ Purple Belt Coach Wali. After a very thorough warm-up, we work on takedowns and takedown defence followed by some live sparring and specific drills.
WOMEN ONLY
This is a women’s only class that is taught in Gi and is all-levels, instructed by a badass woman – Coach Joanna.
BJJ ADVANCED
The advanced classes are for students who have been training for more than 12 months. The layout of the class is similar to the beginners with more focus on sparring and covering intricate techniques. You will learn more advanced attacks and escapes and how to chain them into combinations, as well as more advanced concepts: like pressure and leverage and how to best use them
